My Garden...My Heaven

I love my garden. It is a place I can truly appreciate the work of my hands, having spent weeks of digging and talking to every plant, convincing them that I will be here to love and care for them. They have all assured me that they are happy and healthy and wants to stay in my garden
at any cost ... wooohooo... now I got them !!

This year I will be concentrating on hardy plants. With less rainfall and hotter weather predicted in the coming decades, I need to go with the limited flow and create a water-wise garden. By adopting water-efficient garden practices I can be ensured that my garden can continue to thrive and continue to provide their many benefits, primarily to please me of course ! ...and may also provide some habitat for the birds and butterflies. The next big job I have to do in the coming weeks will be adding compost and manure to the soil....any volunteers ??? morning tea provided. A back braking exercise but a must to provide good food to the plants and enrich the water retention capacity of the soil. This will also encourage the growth of earthworms, excellent for the aeration of the soil. Mulching is the next big task....oh how I need YOU !!!. Bare exposed sol will dry out very quickly and suck moisture from plants. This will also discourage weeds. Then comes the easy job of fertilizing. And after this is all done, just sit back and watch the garden grow. The garden will then be full of blooms right throughout the year. In the coming weeks I shall keep you posted for the progress of my garden. The flowers that have come out and whatever surprises I’ll meet on the way...like a specie I thought have died but have come to life !! I’ll see you later.
